SCG Digital ("we," "us," or "our") operates BookBillPay. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard information when you use our website, owner app, and mobile applications.

By creating an account or using BookBillPay, you agree to this policy.

Information we collect

Account and business information

  • Name, email address, and password (stored as a secure hash)
  • Business name, logo, accent colour, address, phone, and public profile details
  • Subscription plan and billing status

Client and transaction data

  • Contact records you create (client name, email, phone, address, notes)
  • Bookings, services, availability rules, and calendar exceptions
  • Invoices, line items, payment amounts, statuses, and Stripe payment references

Technical and usage data

  • IP address, browser type, device information, and pages visited
  • Server logs used for security, debugging, and reliability

Information we do not collect

  • Full credit or debit card numbers — all card data is handled by Stripe
  • Government IDs, medical records, or other sensitive categories unless you voluntarily enter them in free-text fields (which we discourage)

How we use your information

We use collected information only to operate and improve BookBillPay:

  • Authenticate your account and provide the service
  • Generate invoices, booking pages, and payment links
  • Send transactional email and SMS (confirmations, reminders, receipts)
  • Process subscriptions and support requests
  • Detect fraud, abuse, and security incidents
  • Comply with legal obligations

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with advertisers. We do not run ads.

How we share information

We share data only with service providers that help us run BookBillPay, and only as needed:

  • Stripe, Inc. — payment processing and Stripe Connect
  • Microsoft Azure — hosting, storage, and data protection keys
  • Azure Communication Services — transactional email and SMS delivery

We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights, or in connection with a merger or acquisition with appropriate notice.

Data retention

We retain your account data while your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove or anonymize personal data within 30 days, except where we must retain records for legal, tax, or fraud-prevention purposes.

Data security

We use industry-standard safeguards including encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS), hashed passwords, access controls, and secure cloud infrastructure. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, but we work to protect your data responsibly.

Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data. To exercise these rights, contact us using the email below from your account address. We respond within 30 days.

California residents may have additional rights under the CCPA. EU/UK residents may have additional rights under GDPR. Contact us and we will honour applicable requests.

Children

BookBillPay is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page and, where appropriate, emailed to your account address at least 14 days before they take effect.
